His mind immediately imagines cancellation, financial loss, and cash-flow problems.
The email is identical.
The reactions are not.
The difference is rarely explained by the words on the screen alone.
It often reflects the internal models each nervous system has built over time.
Past experiences quietly shape present expectations.
Those expectations influence attention.
Attention shapes interpretation.
Interpretation influences emotion.
Emotion affects behavior.
A single reaction may have started years before the event that appears to trigger it.

Because every reaction has a history.
And every history leaves traces inside the operating system that quietly shapes how we experience the present.
Perhaps the question is not why you reacted.
Perhaps it is where that reaction first began long before today.
